Impressionable Education
Impressionable.
In one of my previous blog post I talked about how impacted
we are by media- it defines us within our personal experiences and is what we
identify with.
It's not if you're learning, but what.
Thankfully, media has been regulated over time to help
promote learning and education:
- PBS Kids- has
children TV programs
- PBS Learning
Media- has classes that match curriculum for Pre-K up to the end of high
school
- National
Geographic- has shows/games to promote exploration and science
- Various online
games to help learn concepts-
There's a lot to learn, and as we know, not everything we
should see will be included in the media. However, there's a lot we do have
access to that we should be taking advantage of.
My learning consists of TikTok voiceovers currently but I
now have goals to expand my knowledge and learn everything I can while I can.
I'm ready to be impressed.

Hello Kate! I really like how you provided us with both the links and names of specific tv shows that have educational value to them. In today's modern world, it can be easy to put your children in front of the tv for entertainment, but I do think that it is super important that parents and caregivers are aware of the educational content that's in the shows they are playing. PBS Kids has some great options!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this! I also believe that it's really important what you decide to be exposing yourself to and what you're learning. Most of my media content has been instagram, but I've actually been trying to learn more about important topics such as the conflict with Palestine and Israel. I've been trying to look at more reputable and trustworthy sources rather than media where info can be biased.
